Herbert Vanberston is Really Charlie, part of a crooked gang preying on women with high life insurance policies. "Vanberston" plans to marry the Martha and after a lawyer friend has checked the life policy is in order Doctor Dormer uses his hypnotic powers to take control over Martha's mind. Later she is hypnotically ordered to step in front of a car to make it look like an accident. But unfortunately for them, the accident is witnessed by Lamont Cranston who knew that there was something very peculiar about the whole thing.
