Dr Franz Leighton head of the research laboratory at Jordan processing company is responsible for developing the young mans skills and demonstrates how not only the eye but the ear is responsible for his marksmanship. Blindfolded, he is able to shoot once and hit the bulls eye of a target from the sound of a gong giving the direction. The Shadow would be powerless against a boy like that.

He thought it might be a joke but was impressed by the prison and decided the complete tour would be interesting to tell back home. When he enquired about the little gray building across the courtyard, Mr. Keasey his guide, told him it was the death house and a visit would be the greatest thrill of his life.
